Laure Flammarion et Arnaud Uyttenhove ont suivi Alec Soth pendant plus de deux ans lors de son projet "Broken Manual".
Laure flammarion and Arnaud Uytthenove, two young European filmmakers followed the American photographer Alec Soth all over America during winter 2008, summer 2008 and spring 2009. Riding in the back of the artist’s van, they drove more than 30 000km together going from one state to another, and from one season to another. The result is a 57 minutes movie about the photographer and his project, which was called ‘How to disappear in America’, about people who decided to withdraw themselves from society. The road trip offers a series of incredible meetings but it also tells the story of an introspective journey.

Je ne sais pas si le film sera distribué en France. Peut être qu'il sera diffusé par Arte ? Les réalisateurs vont entamer une tournée des salles de cinéma en 2011, plusieurs projections auront lieu aux etats-unis et dans le reste du monde.
Sinon, Soth vend sur son site des exemplaires collector de "Broken Manual". 950 USD par contre ...
La version "grand public" sera disponible en avril 2011 en France.
